Situated 250 km from Hyderabad it'll take about 6-8 hours in moderate traffic and 10 hours from Bangalore. KSRTC has its special bus "Vaibhav" from Bangalore. From the railway station, you can avail a bus for a minimum fare of Rs.10 or hire a cab, jeep or rickshaw for a minimum fare of Rs. 50 per person.
Mantralayam has its own railway station called Mantralayam Road. It lies on the Mumbai- Chennai, Mumbai- Bangalore, Bangalore-Chennai rail routes. A lot of long distance trains make an unofficial stop at this station for water refilling.
