Khirganga National Park, Kullu Overview

Established very recently in 2010, Khirganga National Park is located in Kullu and is known to be one of the most beautiful national parks in the country. Blessed with a scintillating landscape, glossy green hills, dense green shrubberies, tall towering trees and rusty old rest houses, the national park is nothing but a pure visual delight and visiting it is definitely an experience in itself.

The tourists are led on to trespass the trail leading from the centre of the park from where it is easier to spot the exotic and rich flora and fauna. Here, you can also spot several varieties of avifauna belonging to diverse species. Considered to be a haven for nature lovers and wanderers, the national park is also a good spot to unwind and take a break from the chaos and cacophony of city life.

Khirganga Trek

The neighbouring village to the national park is called Khirganga which is known for a hot water spring. And there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati in the village. But, the hamlet is best known for the trek. This trek starts from Barsheni that is a village near Manikaran. A total of 11 km, the tourists can spot various attractions on the way like Rudra Nag waterfall, Pandu Pul, Pin Parvati Pass etc. Usually this is a two day trek, after which you can reach Khirganga and also visit the less popular Khirganga National Park.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit this place is either between April to June, or between September to November. October is the most ideal moth which has inarguably the best climate and experiences relatively less tourist influx.
