Gauri Shankar Temple

Gauri Shankar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in the village of Naggar in Manali. It is a small structure carved out of stones but has immense historical importance in the region. Built in the Shikhara style of architecture, the ancient temple is preserved as a heritage site in Manali. The divine vibe of Goddess Gauri and Lord Shiva can still be felt in the temple beckoning devotees of Lord Shiva. The Naggar Castle is located at a short distance of 50 metres which tourists can visit after exploring the Gauri Shankar Temple. This is the last historical monument of the Gurjara-Pratihara tradition and its beauty is unmatchable with a beautifully decorated massive shikhara. Inside the sanctum sanctorum are the idols of Gauri and Shankar and other carvings on the internal walls.
