Giant Monkey Pod Tree, Kanchanaburi Overview
Kanchanaburi’s Giant Rain Tree is a major attraction in the Royal Thai Army’s Division of Veterinary and Agriculture premises. The tree is over 100 years old and boasts a trunk that is 20m tall and 51.75m in diameter. Hundreds of branches extend for 5 more meters, creating a massive canopy that creates a stunning background from a distance.
The tree stands in the middle of a garden lined by walkways. There is a circular walkway around the tree itself. You can take a round and witness the tree’s beauty from all sides. There are food stalls and souvenir shops near the entrance. Make sure you have an ample amount of water with you if you are visiting during peak summer daytime.
