Malankara Dam is a gravity dam across the Thodupuzha River, near the Thodupuzha-Moolamattom Road, built to use tailwater from the Moolamattom powerhouse and support irrigation in the region. It's open to visitors year-round and is a popular spot for fishing and boating. A 15-acre park near the reservoir was under construction as of this writing.

There is a park covering 15-acre land situated near the reservoir which is under construction. There is an artificial lake that has been created by the Malankara Dam across the waters from the tail-gate of the Moolamattom Power House. Since the dam remains unexplored by many, it has managed to retain its natural beauty. The nearest bus stand from Malankara Dam is Muttom, and the nearest bus stop is the Malankara Estate- Sankarapilly. The dam is situated near Thodupuzha which is easily accessible via KSRTC Bus Station that is 20 km away.
