Theme of A Symphony of Lights

Previously the Symphony of Lights performed around five major themes that showcased Hong Kong’s rich diversity and the lavish night views of the Harbour. They were Awakening, Energy, Heritage, Partnership and Celebration. Each of the themes had its own unique vibe and represented the true spirit of this fascinating island.

However, this old theme is discarded now and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is playing the newest edition of the SoL music. This music is a fusion of contemporary elements and traditional flavour that represents the seamless blend of the East and West culture. There is also a dedicated mobile application from where the spectators can tune in to the theme of the show.

Tips

1. If you are planning to experience the show from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, reach the destination at least  30 minutes before time. This way you can get a nice viewing spot.
2. During the show, avoid standing closer to the public pier. It is frequented by passengers and they often distract spectators.
3. Watch the show on a clear day. When the visibility is really low, the laser beams or lights can hardly be seen.
