Penang Bird Park, Georgetown Penang Overview

The beautifully-landscaped Penang Bird Park is located in Seberang Jaya and is the first and the largest bird park in Malaysia. It is home to over 300 species of birds, ranging from several species indigenous to the nurturing tropical ecosystem of Malaysia to other exotic species from all over the world.

The park has two walk-in aviaries and two geodesic-domed enclosures, and also large spaces which imitate the natural habitats of the birds. It is not uncommon to see majestic birds like Ostriches frolicking about in these environments. Visitors to the stunning park get to spend a day admiring and even (if they’re lucky) interacting with the majestic birds the Penang Bird Park is home to.

Animal Show

The Penang Bird Park boasts a spirited animal show, where several kinds of well-trained birds (including but not limited to parrots, birds, and owls) entertain the numerous spectators.

Children, especially, are known to enjoy the show which is also quite informative and is, therefore, an interactive learning experience.

How to Reach Penang Bird Park

The Penang Bird Park is located within the mainland, which makes it very convenient to access it. It is located along the North-South Highway right off the expressway. To drive to the park, turn off the Seberang Jaya intersection and follow the signs to Butterworth. There are also many buses available, simply look for the one that leaves from KOMTAR for Seberang Jaya.

Another convenient option to get there is hiring one of the local taxis which are very common and easily found.
