Nanzoin Reclining Buddha, Fukuoka Overview
A 41-metre bronze reclining Buddha, among the largest statues of its kind anywhere, in a working temple that has become firm about how it is visited. Entry is 500 yen for overseas visitors, there is an enforced dress code covering shoulders and knees, visible tattoos are not permitted, and the temple states plainly that this is a place of prayer, not a sightseeing stop.
