Bijayapur

Bijayapur is a hill settlement on the northern edge of Dharan and the historic seat of the Sen rulers of Vijayapur, whose fort once stood on the ridge. It is the setting for two of Dharan's most visited shrines, the Budha Subba Temple and the Dantakali Temple, and the ridge itself gives wide views back over the town and out to the plains.

Most elements inside the Budha Subba Temple like the temple bell, railings, pillars, trees and its branches have wish-threads tied to them. Thus, the surroundings appear colourful and divine. The temple is spacious and has a centrally located main shrine, which is surrounded by tall and dense ancient trees. It is an excellent place for those who are looking out for a tranquil location close to the city.
