Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple, Chicago Overview
Built by John Wellborn Root, the Ling Shen Ching Temple is a triangular yet simple building in Bridgeport. The building initially started as a Presbyterian Church but went on to become a Buddha temple in 1992. With over 1000 disciples, the temple focuses on the teachings and lessons of Taoism. There are a variety of prayer chambers inside the temple. Each prayer chamber has multiple Vajrayana Buddha sculptures and symbolizes something like wisdom or health. The temple truly believes in the strength of chanting mantras to attain the ultimate enlightenment.
