Central Festival Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Overview

Central Festival, or “Fest” as it is called by locals, is a shopping mall in Chiang Mai. Hosting a variety of international brand names along with local brands, the mall is considered the second largest shopping mall in the city. It has over 300 stores, a 7-screen cinema, an ice-skating rink, and a massive food court.

Spanning over 250,000 square metres, Central Festival Chiang Mai caters to the new-age customer. It provides modern facilities in its giant oval structure that is interconnected with escalators and has five floors of luxury shopping experience.

Sub-Zero Ice Skating Rink is the only ice rink in Chiang Mai. It is fairly large at 20 x 40 metres with the capacity to hold around 300 skaters. It opens at 10:30 AM and closes by 10:00 PM every day. One can rent skating equipment and skating classes are available for those who don't know ice skating.

Cost: It is priced at THB 160 per hour for children and THB 200 per hour for adults. Whole-day packages are available for THB 500. On Wednesdays, they have a promotional offer of THB 90 per hour for both adults and children.

Major Cineplex is considered one of the most luxurious cinema experiences in the city. It offers a fantastic luxury experience of large leg room, premier facilities, and great service for a fairly nominal price. They play Thai, Hollywood, and some other language films like Hindi. 
Cost: Standard seating is priced at THB 100, leather couches are priced at THB 120, and the first class seats with leather seats and pillows is priced at THB 180.

How To Reach CentralFestival Chiang Mai

Central Festival is located at Mae Kho Mu 4 Alley at the corner of the Super Highway and Kaeonowarat Road in Fa Ham, Chiang Mai. It is 14 kilometres (20 minutes) from Chiang Mai International Airport, 6.2 kilometres (15 minutes) from Nimmanhaemin Suthep, 5.6 kilometres (15 minutes) from Tha Phae Gate and 4.5 kilometres (10 minutes) from Chiang Mai National Museum.

To reach CentralFestival from Chiang Mai town, drive north along Huay Khaw Road and take the right at the Rincome Intersection. The mall is located before the turn off the Super Highway to San Sai. A taxi to Central Festival will be around THB 200. A songthaew would charge around THB 40-60 from the old city while a tuk-tuk would be around THB 150 per person.

Central Festival has a free shuttle that travels through the city daily. It stops at various locations along Nimmanhaemin Suthep like Furama Hotel, Victoria Hotel, Chang Noi Herb, Eastin Tan Hotel, and Kantary Hills.
