Cebu is a collection of islands, the largest being the eponymous Cebu Island that stretches almost 200 kilometres from north to south. This island is home to plenty of hidden nooks, coves, and splendid beaches to unwind. Other islands to visit in the region include Nalusuan Island, a diver's paradise with neon coral and colourful fish; Bantayan Island, probably the most famous island in the region for its breath-taking beaches; and Camotes Island, where you can explore Santiago Bay, Danao Lake and Bukilat Cave. Adventure junkies will be thrilled to hear about Cebu's amazing waterfalls like Kawasan Falls where you can enjoy rappelling, rock climbing, and even waterfall jumping. Cebu's mountainous region is great for trekking amidst lush flora and wildlife, including the rare tarsier. There are plenty of culinary adventures to be undertaken at Cebu too, such as bakasi (saltwater eels), lechon (roast pig) and tuslob buwa (pig brains). In case you're sceptical, let's remind you that the late celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain once called tuslob buwa the best pork he's ever tasted!
