Howard Smith Wharves sits on the Brisbane River at Petrie Bight, directly under the Story Bridge. The wharf buildings were built between 1939 and 1942 as relief-work infrastructure and later leased to shipping company Howard Smith Co. Ltd; the precinct has been on the Queensland Heritage Register since 1997.
