Sharad Baug Palace, Bhuj Overview

Sharad Baug Palace in Bhuj, Gujarat, is a historic royal residence built in 1867, blending Indo-European architectural styles. It served as the abode of the last Maharao of Kutch, Madansinghji, until his death in 1991. Post the 2001 earthquake, which damaged much of the structure, the palace's dining hall was converted into a museum showcasing royal artifacts, including stuffed tigers and the Maharao's coffin. The surrounding gardens, now a nursery, offer a tranquil retreat and attract various migratory birds.
