Bageshwar Tourism

Bageshwar is a small town in Uttarakhand, tucked away in the Kumaon region of the Himalayan range inconspicuously. Situated at the confluence of the rivers Saryu and Gomti, with Bhileshwar and Nileshwar mountains, Bageshwar is known for its rivers, temples and mountains. The temple Baghnath dedicated to Lord Shiva, and its mention in the Puranas, attracts religious tourists to this place.

Shivratri Fair and Uttrayani Fair are celebrated in full zeal and enthusiasm here. If it is colourful fairs and festivals that attract you, or if hiking and trekking call you out of your comfort zone, you won't be disappointed. Bageshwar isn't a place that you want to sit back and relax in. There's an adventure with life pumping through every vein of this tiny town.

For the sightseeing enthusiast, unfortunately Bageshwar does not offer too many places to visit due to the overlapping of districts and the restrictive terrain.

Do carry lots of dry foodstuffs, unavailability of the same, and more importantly the unpredictable monsoon can be a bugger for ordering in, or eating out.

Taxi services are readily available for hire to the neighbouring areas, but bargain without an inkling of doubt, for the taxi services often overcharge unwary customers.
