Car/Taxi – Arrowtown is just a 20 minute drive from Queensland, which makes it very accessible by car. There are plenty of parking spaces available in the town. If you want to hire a taxi, services such as Uber are popular and easily available in Queenstown, and will cost around NZD 50.
You could opt to take the scenic route to Arrowtown from Queenstown, which is the same distance, and passes through picturesque valleys and farmland under Coronet Peak. Arrowtown is also a 40 minute drive from Cromwell, along SH6.
Bus – This is the cheapest way to get to Arrowtown from Queenstown. The Orbus service from Queenstown and Frankton is NZD 2. Line 2 of the public bus service also goes to Arrowtown.
Cycle – If you’re the sporty kind, you can also hire a bicycle from Queenstown and cycle down to Arrowtown, via the scenic Queenstown Trail. This trail goes through valleys and bridges with the best of views. It will be a 26 kilometre ride each way, so make sure you carry water and glucose with you!
