Located in the Bay of Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands is an archipelago consisting of about 600 islands out of which only around 36 islands are inhabited. The archipelago is divided into two groups of islands - the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands. Of these, only 9 islands in the Andaman Islands group are open for tourists. In earlier times, the islands were referred to as Kalapani for their notorious penal settlement. Pristine beaches, gorgeous corals, fascinating marine life, adventurous water sports and the remain of Stone Age culture draw multitudes of tourists to these islands every year. These islands are covered with lush forests and endless varieties of exotic flora and fauna. Incredible corals and marine life, crystal clear water and mangrove-lined creeks lure travellers to these picturesque islands. while the sandy beaches form as nesting homes to turtles, animals such as spotted deer, wild boar, gecko, crab-eating macaque and python can be spotted in the 86% area still covered by dense forests.

- If you are a non-Indian national, then you would need to get a 'Restricted Area Permit' to visit these islands, especially if you are coming via sea.

NORTH BAY ISLAND is a part of the Andaman Islands and provides a range of water sports and activities like Scuba diving, sea walking and glass bottom ride. I did scuba diving, which is good for beginners but if you seek a very adventurous experience, then this is probably not the place for you. Also, in case you are not interested in any water activities or if you're going to Havelock Island, you might want to skip North Bay as this island is not a great option for just chilling on the beach, has little food options and the water isn't very clean as compared to beaches on Havelock Island which also provide these facilities. I think the price charged for these activities (Rs. 3500-4000) is not worth the experience and there are other better places for water sports/activities.

Andaman and Nicobar is the perfect destination with amazing scenic beaches and absolutely pleasent weather. We went there in the month of June for a one week holiday and it was the best! We visited the popular Havelock Island which was jusy beautiful, the cellular jail where they have an interesting and informative light and sound show and we went to loads of beaches just to swim around and have a nice chill day. Some of my friends even tried scuba diving and snorkeling and absolutely loved it! This is the best place to be if someone's interested in beaches, travelling in cruises and overall living the best life!

Whether you want to enjoy some time in peace and relax or a vacation full of adventure, Andaman and Nicobar is the place to visit! There are two routes of visiting Andaman; through Chennai and through Kolkata. I went via Kolkata and enjoyed some time there as well. I visited the Cellular Jail in Port Blair where we encountered the ?Jarawas?(indigenous tribe). The Cellular Jail also has a light and sound show which explains the history of ?Kala Paani? in a very creative way. I next went to Havelock via cruise and tried various cuisines and sea food and also went snorkelling and scuba diving there. Although scary, these experiences were worth the time, money and courage. I also went on a boat with a transparent panel at the bottom that enabled us to see the life under water. In all, the food, culture, artefacts, special wooden and shell jewellery and the adventure make the journey worth it and very enjoyable!

I stayed in Havelock island for a day. It is easily reachable by ferry. There are a lot of quirky cafes. The night life is vibrant while the day is peaceful. I scuba dived here and was awestruck by the colourful underwater life. I suggest you stay here for more than a day roaming around and spend time mingling with other friendly foreign tourists.

If you visit Andaman island and leave without going to Ross Island, you are going to regret it big time. It is like an abandoned city were people from East India Company once lived lavishly. The highlight is the Light and Sound show which tells the history of the island. It is carried out every evening and it left me dumbfounded. Do not miss it.

My experience with the Cellular Jail was a bit unusual as it was a mixture of pain and pleasure. While the lush greenery, beautiful scenic view from the terrace and a peaceful environment were captivating; the narrow cells, gallows and work-shed testifying to the dark truths of the infamous ?Kaale Pani ki saza? were extremely heart wrenching. The lights and sounds show in the evening took us back to those times, talking about the experiences of the inmates and gave us a sense of pride. Make sure you get the tickets well in time as they get sold out quickly. Don?t forget to take your Debit card with you as it would be needed to buy the tickets.

Q. Please recommend some place to stay in accommodated with pure veg(no onion) restaurants. I will be obliged if you can get me some details.

You can try Hotel Sea Rock in Port Blair if you are looking for a good pure veg restaurant and hotel together. However, restaurants like Icy Spicy, Anju Coco and Annapurna are known to have better vegetarian options, though they are only restaurants.

Q. Things to do in port Blair.

Cellular Jail: Kaala Paani is one of the most popular places to visit in Port Blair Attend the Light and Sound Show: The history of Kala Pani is brought alive by a soulful narration from the viewpoint of an old peepal tree in the complex that witnessed all the tragic events in this cellular hell. The voice of the Peepal tree is that of one of the most famous Bollywood actors Om Puri. Show Timings are 18:00 and 19:15 in Hindi except for on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday when the second show is in English. Museum: Where you can uncover city?s tribal history, marine life and more Chidiya Tapu: Besides grand sunsets, Chidiya Tapu is also a good spot to go birdwatching. 17 km from Port Blair Enjoy the sumptuous Seafood at the local market For nightlife you can opt to listening to live bands Aberdeen Bazar & Samudrika: For Shopping with a bargain Evening at Gandhi Park For Further References you can visit following links: https://www.holidify.com/blog/trip-to-andamans/ https://www.holidify.com/blog/andamans-beauties-of-the-bay/

Q. How much it would be for 6-7 day and the way to reach there from indore madhya pradesh?

Holidify 1 year ago
Flight is your best option to reach Andaman & Nicobar Islands. There are no direct flights to the Andamans from Indore. Most connecting flights are through Chennai. Your budget would depend on what you plan to do and how many people you are travelling with. A solo trip for a week would cost around INR 4000 per night, covering food, stay, travel, drinks, and activities.

Q. In season time, what is the special activities I can explore than normal days?
