Munnar Reviews

Munnar is truly the home of the God, the all-encompassing verdant scenario might have enticed the lord to such extent that he decided to make the place his abode. From Munnar to Alleppey every bit of Kerala is drop-dead gorgeous owing to the heavenly natural setting. The monsoon rains make it appear more beautiful and the view from the peak of Munnar is breathtaking, a jewel from the southern part of India.

- Apply sunscreen lotion while you leave Munnar because as you descend the hills the weather gets warmer and causes sun burn. Hill stations tend to get dark rather early, so be sure to carry a torch or flashlight.

Day 1 ?Have breakfast and begin your trip early in the morning with Pothamedu View Point adorned with stretching hills and lush green mountains. Chithirapuram is the next destination on the list followed by Eravikulam (Rajamalai) National Park where also lies the Anamudi Peak the highest peak (2,695 m) of Western Ghats and South India. After visiting the Tea Museum, last place for the trip is Mattupetti Dam. Rest for the day and relish the beautiful weather. Day2 ? Second day in the city begins with Forest Rose Garden located just 2 kms from Munnar blooming with plethora of variety of forest roses and other rare flowers. Other places that form the second day itinerary are Echo Point, Kundala Dam & Lake, Lakkom Water Falls and Marayoor.

Munnar is a beautiful hill station that is ideal for escaping the sweltering heat of the cities. Known best for its tea estates Munnar has a lot of sights to behold and is enjoyable throughout the year. However, rains do frequent the area. Hiring a car or a taxi for the whole day is the best way to travel to all the destinations in Munnar. Be prepared for long car rides as all the frequented spots are at a distance from each other. However, the view of the scenic hill station more than makes up for the travel hours.

Its 21st Aug and I just don't wanna leave this place. Generally mist plays a big role whether you can enjoy a hill station properly or not. The quantity of mist here right now is just the right. It lets you enjoy the distant views as well as keeps the weather cool. Not a lot of rain also, so no worries of getting drenched.
