Taragarh Fort, Ajmer Overview
A rather ramshackle fort, with its overgrown vegetation, Taragarh Fort is one of the most famous places in Bundi, Rajasthan. Believed to be the first hill fort of Asia, Taragarh Fort is located on top of the Nagpahri Hill.
The typical Rajasthani fort provides a wonderful aerial view of the entire Ajmer city - after a 3 km, 1.5 hours climb. The Miran Saheb ka Dargah was made inside the fort after Miran Saheb sacrificed his life protecting the fort. The highlight of this fort is Bhim Burj - the massive stone towers which house Garbha Gunjan, the huge cannon. Near the site are the large water reservoirs that were used in times of water scarcity.
