Mayo College Museum, Ajmer Overview
Housed in Jhalwar House, Mayo College Museum was ideated by Mr. T. N. Vyas and is considered the largest school museum in the world. Spread over 18 rooms on the campus, the entities of the repository have all been donated by old students, teachers, parents or well-wishers. The collection included old paintings, sculptures, photographs and coins. The natural history section has stuffed birds and butterflies as well.
Mayo College in Ajmer is known to be one of the best boarding schools in India. The curriculum was designed for boys from well to do families of princes and nobles. The school was founded by Richard Bourke in 1875. He was the Viceroy of India from 1869 to 1872.
