Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants along Nizami Street, a bustling pedestrian thoroughfare known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse culinary offerings. Later, you can take a stroll around the Fountain Square. Baku is known for its vibrant nightlife that can be witnessed on this historic street.

On your second day in Baku, depart early for a day trip to Gobustan National Park, renowned for its ancient rock carvings and mud volcanoes. Spend approximately 2-3 hours exploring the petroglyphs, mud volcanoes, and the Gobustan Museum, which provides insight into the region's prehistoric past.

Continue your journey to Ateshgah Fire Temple, a unique Hindu and Zoroastrian religious site where natural gas has been burning for centuries. Spend about 1-2 hours exploring the temple complex and learning why Azerbaijan is called the “Land of Fire”.

After, spending a couple of days in Baku, it’s time to explore the beautiful countryside of Azerbaijan.

Start from Sheki, a picturesque city nestled in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. En route, visit the Diri Baba Mausoleum, a sacred site revered by locals and travelers alike.

Upon arrival in Sheki, visit the Sheki Khan's Palace, a stunning architectural marvel adorned with colorful frescoes and intricate stained glass windows. The sunlight seeping through these windows creates kaleidoscopic patterns, making the palace look surreal.

Conclude your day with a visit to the Sheki Bazaar, where you can shop for locally-made handicrafts, sweets, and spices. Don't miss trying Sheki halva, a traditional sweet delicacy. You can also buy traditional silk clothes from the market or visit the silk factory as Sheki is renowned for its Kelaghayi silk craftsmanship.

You can choose to explore the nearby villages on your second day in Sheki. Visit Kish village, home to one of the oldest churches in the Caucasus region. Spend approximately 1-2 hours exploring the ancient Albanian church and learning about its historical significance.

Next, head to the nearby village of Lahij, known for its local craft industries like copperware, hat making, leather production, blacksmithing, and carpet weaving. While in Gabala, you will have a chance to explore scenic charms like the “Yeddi Gozel” waterfall and Nohur Lake.

Day 5: Baku

Use your last day in Azerbaijan to make the best of Baku. Head to the Baku Funicular for a scenic ride up to Highland Park, offering panoramic views of the city and the Caspian Sea. Enjoy the picturesque landscapes before descending back down.


Make your way to Little Venice, a charming recreation of Venice's canals and bridges located on Baku Boulevard. Take a leisurely gondola ride through the miniature waterways, admiring the architectural details and lush greenery.

If you have time left then do check out the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan. The museum is open from 10 AM to 6 PM but since the ticket office closes at 5, make sure to be a little early.
