Azerbaijan Visa for Indians: Step By Step Guide

Indian nationals require a valid visa to enter Azerbaijan which can be obtained electronically prior to their departure. The e-visa service is provided by the ‘Azerbaijan Services and Assessment Network’ or ASAN in short. This system allows eligible Indians to apply for their visas online, eliminating the need for traditional paper applications and embassy visits. Indians can obtain a single-entry visa that is valid for 90 days post its date of issuance and allows a stay for a maximum of 30 days.

Azerbaijan visa requirements for Indian citizens

  • An Indian passport that is valid for at least 3 months after the expiration date of your e-visa, while applying.
  • Accurate and complete address of accommodation in Azerbaijan.

How long does it take to get an e-Visa?

You must apply a minimum of 3 working days before the date of the journey for a standard visa. However, you can also apply for an urgent-visa 3 hours before your departure by paying some additional fee.

Application Process

  1. Visit the official electronic visa portal of Azerbaijan at evisa.gov.az.
  2. Here you can choose the option for a single-entry standard visa or an urgent visa.
  3. Fill out the online application form with accurate and up-to-date information, including personal details and passport information.
  4. Upload supporting travel documents. Ensure that they are clear and legible.
  5. If you are travelling with others then you can also add additional members and fill their details separately in the same form.
  6. Pay the e-visa processing fee using a valid debit or credit card.
  7. Review and submit your application.

Payment for the e-Visa

The total payment to be made for a standard visa is 25 USD which includes a 5-dollar service fee. However, the cost of an urgent visa is 60 dollars, including the service fee of 40 dollars. The paid amount is non-refundable in case of rejection or cancellation. You can make your payment only via Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay cards. The card doesn’t necessarily have to be in the applicant’s name.

Duration of stay

An e-visa is valid for a total of 90 days from the date of issuance. However, the stay period with a single entry visa cannot exceed 30 days. If you are planning to stay in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days, you must be registered at the place of residence with the State Migration Service. In case of emergencies, if you wish to extend your stay, you are required to apply for the extension of the temporary staying period or issuance of a temporary residence permit.
