Disappointing

Disappointing due to the room we were in. Other rooms are likely better.

The location was excellent. Quiet part of Perth, on an inlet: free, frequent bus into the downtown; several restaurants nearby, grocery store, wine store and pharmacy nearby. 1 bedroom suite was spacious and well equipped.

Checkin: the older lady who checked us in was not people person. She hardly spoke to us, we got no information about the apartments or the area from her. Room cleaning: they provide everyday "express cleaning" which is garbage/rubbish removal and hanging your towels up. Every 3 days they provide full cleaning - except we did not notice any "full cleaning". Over 12 days, our suite was never vacuumed or dusted. We had to ask at the front desk for toilet paper and tissues. We were there over Xmas holiday which may have affected cleaning schedule but we were disappointed in the service. Major issue: the view. We booked this hotel based on a recommendation of local friends who had stayed there and raved about the lovely view over the water from the 1 bedroom suites. Unfortunately we were in room 311 which had a very disappointing "view" The "balcony" has 1/4 view of the water. The 1/4 that overlooked the water but was right above 2 restaurants and while the noise didn't bother us, it might others. 3/4 of the "balcony" is blocked by the communal BBQ area. There is a low cement wall between the 'balcony" and the BBQ area so in the evenings when people are sitting there, they are only a meter away from our space. The "balcony" is also beside the walkway to the pool so everyone walking by can look into the "balcony" and our apartment. We had to keep the blinds drawn all the time. I spoke to the front desk about our disappointment with the view but no change could be made. We also had an issue with all the cleaning and rubbish trolleys being stored right outside our door during the day. Every time we left the room, we had to walk by these trolleys with cleaing supplies and the garbage bags. Not pleasant. I spoke to the yong woman at the desk about it and she arranged for them to be moved right away.

Long stay in Perth

The location is excellent, and there is a lovely pool. Unfortunately this was out of operation for 2 weeks of our 4 week stay. It has the potential to be a lovely hotel but it is looking very tired and could do with a face-lift.

The cleaning was very superficial and our apartment wasn't vacuumed or dusted during the whole of our 4 week stay, despite their promise of a thorough clean every few days. This came as no surprise as we had stayed here before and had made similar comments. We had just hoped they may have upped their game.
