One of the largest museums in Zurich, the Rietberg Museum is the only art museum displaying non-European art & design in Switzerland. Situated in Rieterpark, it displays phenomenal artefacts and designs of Oceanian, Asian, African, and American cultures.
There are 27,000 artefacts and 36,000 ethnographic pictures spread over different exhibits. With multiple permanent and temporary exhibitions, the museum houses exhibits like Being Jain, Pathways to Art, Kimono, African miniatures, Chinese Jade and many more.
Apart from the eye-catching art, the building of the museum designed by Alfred Grazioli and Adolf Krischanitz comprises three elegant villas and one of the most beautiful gardens in the city. Sit back and savour the Swiss flavours in the courtyard cafe of the museum and get some souvenirs from its art shop.
