Zanzibar Kilosas Conservation, Zanzibar Overview
Zanzibar Kilosas Conservation in Nungwi is a small private zoo started by Kilosa Haji Kilosa in the 1980s, holding monkeys, reptiles, turtles, ostriches, crocodiles and small antelope, and presented as a refuge for animals found injured or orphaned on the island. Entry is cheap and the tour is short. Some of the monkeys are loose and will climb on visitors, and they can bite, so keep children close and do not encourage contact.
The main goals of Zanzibar Kilosas Conservation are to raise awareness about conservation efforts and provide a safe environment for endangered species.
