Shipwreck Boat Panagiotis, Zakynthos Overview

The Panagiotis Shipwreck Boat, one of the most scenic sites in Greece, is on Navagio Beach near Anafonitria village. The shipwreck has become a landmark for the island and is the top tourist attraction. The now rustic freighter stands on the white pebbled beach against a scenic backdrop of vertical limestone cliffs and mesmerising turquoise waters. Visitors from around the world visit the site to take photographs of the wreck and swim in the Ionian waters.

The coved beach also has two viewpoints for a beautiful aerial view of the shipwreck and the surrounding beach. The beach is accessible via boats or water taxis, while the viewing points can be reached by road. The Panagiotis Boat Shipwreck took place in the 1980s. The Panagiotis was believed to be a smuggler ship that crashed on the cliffs and thus formed the pebbled cove.
