Kandawgyi Garden History & Significance

Kandawgyi Garden or Kandawgyi Nature Park was built in 1915 during the British rule along with the construction of the lake which happened around the same time. Next to the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, it has been a recreational place across the pond for many decades. There are wooden walkways that go around the lake and the park, which is a popular place for runners and joggers in the mornings and evenings.
