Bogyoke Aung San Museum History & Significance

The two-story villa was the last residence of General Aung San, who was assassinated in 1947. The colonial-style building was constructed in 1921 and was where his daughter Aung San Suu Kyi grew up as a child. It was converted to Bogyoke Aung San Museum in 1962. The exhibition includes a collection of his items including clothes, hand-written letters to his family, books, furniture, cars and many photos.
