Pasar Triwindu, Surakarta Overview

Pasar Triwindu was founded in the year 1939 as a symbol of KGPAA Mangkunegara 7 the 24th ascending the throne. It is basically a flea market with huge variety of antiques. It is located at Diponogere Street, Surakarta, Indonesia. The market is spread over a huge landscapes over 2,384 square metres with two storied building where multiple vendors with different stalls selling their huge collections of souvenirs and antiques for example flower vases, Chinese ceramics, European statues, wooden sculptures artworks and many more.

The antiques are almost over 50 years old and are in good condition. The prices of the items can vary but are highly negotiable; so do negotiate. Its better you take your local guide or a local guy to the market to diminish language communication barrier. Eliminating the language barrier might get the things at a way cheaper price. There are over 200 vendors selling items so do check few of them before buying.

If you are travelling by car or bike no need to worry as there is plenty of space available and after all the shopping in case you get hungry, there are food stalls available on the streets. People here frequent these stalls to try some local and traditional meals. It is recommended to visit the market early as possible as it might get crowded, making parking another issue.
