Ten November Museum, Surabaya Overview
The Ten November Museum represents a memorialization of the happenings of the 10th November struggle. 10th November is celebrated as 'Heroes' Day' in Surabaya and is dedicated to the soldiers who gave up their lives for independence. The museum showcases weapons which were used in the Battle of Surabaya while also providing plenty of information about the history of the Indonesian freedom struggle. Located underneath the Heroes' Monument, the museum was built to explain the significance of the Heroes' Monument.
The museum and the Heroes' Monument is dedicated to the soldiers that lost their lives during the Battle of Surabaya. Soaring for over 40m into the sky, the venue becomes the site that hosts the processions that happen every 10th of November. The museum also contains photographs and dioramas that depict what happened on that fateful day.
