Things to Do

Pasar Pabean is a famous centre for fresh seafood which is usually active with buyers before the afternoon and during the afternoon. The place is quieter in the morning and one will usually not find fresh fish as it usually arrives in the afternoon.

The advantage of shopping in this market is that the prices are relatively cheaper than other places which make it a central market for shopping for seafood. However, be wary while shopping for the seafood since one is not always guaranteed the best quality and it may get difficult to distinguish between the good fish and the bad fish.

Shellfish market:- There are also many shops in and around the market which are selling different kinds of shellfish, and even shrimp. Some of the other stores include perfume sellers, which add a mixed and eerie stench in the air, making the smell overwhelming.

Chinese vegetable and herbs market:- Walking five minutes from the main market one will find markets selling vegetables, herbs, dried goods and condiments which are specific to Chinese food, coupled with Chinese style equipment.

Food:- On the other side one will find some eateries and street vendors selling delicious meatballs and soup which makes for a healthy and hearty meal after a long day of shopping.

Fish Market in Pasar Pabean:

In the afternoon, the market is filled with wet fish sellers, selling different varieties of fish ranging from wet fish, small fish to big fish. However, as dusk approaches the sellers sell different types of dried fish accompanied with condiments.
