Yumiharidake Observatory, Sasebo Overview
The one viewpoint that shows Sasebo as a working naval city rather than a scenic bay. From 364m the harbour, the US fleet base and the Japanese destroyer piers are laid out below with the islands beyond. Free and reachable by road, and the hour after dark is when the port lights make the case for coming up.
