Observatory Campground is a no-frills campsite in the wilderness of Palomar Mountain forests. Nestled amidst pine and oak groves, this site offers pitching tents and direct access to a majestic trail system for day hiking, horseback riding and nature walks. Science buffs are often drawn to this camp for its proximity to Palomar Observatory and nightly stargazing parties at the camp.
