Day Trip to Kobe, Osaka Overview
Half an hour west of Osaka on any of three competing lines, and the sights run in a line from the hills down to the water: the Kitano merchant houses, the Nunobiki herb garden above Shin-Kobe, and Meriken Park, where a stretch of quay has been left exactly as the 1995 earthquake wrecked it. The City Loop bus links them for eight hundred yen a day.
