Kolapathana Falls, Nuwara Eliya Overview

Kolapathana Waterfall drops around 50 meters in steps near Mandaram Nuwara, fed by streams off the Piduruthalagala forest reserve, in Nuwara Eliya district. Swimming at the base of the main falls isn't allowed since it's a source of drinking water for the nearby town. Purahangala, a bathing spot about halfway down the trail, is the better option if you want to get in the water.
