Oloolua Nature Trail, Nairobi Overview

The Oloolua Nature Trail is a 5km natural trail in the tropical Oloolua Forest of the Karen neighbourhood. The trail is popular for jogging, walking, picnicking amidst stunning forest views, and hiking. Many indigenous trees and plants can be found here. A 20-foot waterfall at the forest entrance is the highlight, along with a campsite equipped with bonfire facilities.

A rickety bridge over the Mbagathi river in the middle of the forest leads to a 33m long cave with underground caverns and a papyrus swamp rich in local biodiversity. There is a designated picnic site with litter bins, controlled grills, ovens, benches, clean washrooms and sounds of birds in the wild. Weekdays are the best time to visit to avoid the crowd.
