John Rylands Library, Manchester Overview

John Rylands Library is considered to be one of the oldest gems in the city of Manchester. It is considered to be a masterpiece with Victorian Gothic style of architecture and it is any book lover's dream place.

Opened in 1900, the library was founded by Enriqueta Augustina Rylands in the memory of her husband, John Rylands. At present, it is the part of the University of Manchester Library This library is one of the only five libraries dedicated to National research. It contains more than 4 million printed books and manuscripts and over 50000 electronic books. This place is totally a book lover's paradise.
