Maula Kalika, Lumbini Overview
Maula Kalika is a Hindu temple to the goddess Kali, set on Maula Hill above Gaindakot on the bank of the Narayani river. The climb up the stone steps through thick greenery opens onto wide views over the river and the plains beyond. It lies about 130 kilometres east of Lumbini, so it works best as a stop on the way to or from Chitwan rather than as a day trip.
