Mounted atop a 1200-meter-high plateau, Pergasingan Hill is the gateway to East Lombok's unique, rugged natural landscape framed by volcanoes and mountain peaks. The trek to Bukit Pergasingan takes two hours, along a path up this thickly wooded hill overlooking far-reaching views of farmlands and Mount Rinjani volcano.
Most private and guided treks begin from Sembalun Village. Along the trail, trekkers can also visit the tended vegetable gardens and rice fields of the Sembalun's farmers.
