Rolex Learning Center, Lausanne Overview

The Rolex Learning Center operates as a laboratory for learning, a library, and an international cultural hub. It is located on the campus of Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. It is open to students as well as the general public. Its main source of attraction is the massive library.

It has 500,000 printed works, making it one of Europe's largest collections of scientific work. It has four large study areas that can accommodate 860 people. It also has a conference and event room with a seating capacity of 600, which is equipped with the latest technologies. Apart from the educational aspect, this place is also aesthetically pleasing. Its architecture was done by the Japanese firm SANAA. Guided tours are available in English and French. The availability of these tours depends on the availability of the guide. With its tunnel-like structure, the building design is considered to be highly innovative. The building only touches the ground gently. So, from afar, it looks like it is floating in the air! It has floors and terraces that undulate gently and are always parallel to each other. The building is surrounded by gardens. The view that it offers is also worth a visit.
