Knysna Gin Distillery

Knysna Gin Distillery is located on Uil Street, serving traditionally distilled Knysna Gin. This distillery is famous for practising the traditional method of using copper pot and flame for its distillation process. Tourists flock for a detailed distillery tour to taste the award-winning Knysna gin made with nine natural botanicals.

The must-taste recipes include the classic Knysna gin, honey gin, and blueberry gin. Do not forget to savour a sip from the seasonal releases, including the mulberry and plum gin. Enjoy an exquisite collection of patch beer from the Knysna brewery and try gin tasting at R 60, including a package of three gins.

Enjoy the Friday nights at the Knysna Gin Distillery by enjoying a gulp of gin with authentic wood-fired, hand-made, sourdough pizza from Maillard Baking Co. Rion and Kay Merryweather, the founders of this craft distillery, are taking care of the distillery. It has been recognized by the 2020 International Wine and Spirit Competition with a silver medal, attracting more eyes to this African twist on the classic Knysna Gin. A 5-litre Alembic Copper Pot is used for experimental recipe development, while the 200 lt is used for mass-producing gin at Knysna Gin Distillery. Visitors can also enjoy quality time at the cocktail and gin bar.
