An interactive and fun museum of transport, industry and communications which was opened by Rahmi M. Ko, a member of the wealthiest Turkish dynasty.
The museum is located on the north shore of the historic Golden Horn. It was Turkey's first dedicated museum in the fields of transport, industry and communications. The museum's collection is vast, from things as small as the gramophone to ships and aircrafts! There are dedicated permanent exhibitions on road transport, railways, aviation, communications, marine, engineering and scientific instruments. There are many sections in these collections that are interactive models for kids. They can do fun scientific experiments, experience the cockpits of real aircrafts, or even take part in the special activities that take place in the museum on weekends. The museum also has a gift shop, a cafe, a pub and a restaurant, all of which also house some items from the museum's collection.
