Necklace Road Tourism

Necklace Road is a long boulevard that encircles Hyderabad’s Tank Bund, resembling a glittering necklace. Tank Bund consists of the beautiful Hussain Sagar Lake with a giant monolithic statue of Gautama Buddha at the centre on Gibralter Rock. Necklace Road also connects Hyderabad to its twin city Secunderabad.

It is a popular neighbourhood to unwind by the lake and a favourite picnic spot for families and tourists. Lined with beautiful green gardens, eat streets and local shopping, Necklace Road is a major tourist area and is busy all year round.

Stretching 3 kms in length, Necklace Road connects three significant parts of the city (each of them is a beautiful park), namely NTR Gardens, Lumbini Park in Hyderabad and Sanjeevaiah Park in Secunderabad. The neighbourhood surrounding Necklace Road consists of many of Hyderabad’s famous attractions. The most visited of them being the famous Birla Mandir dedicated the holy deity of Lord Venkateshwara of Tirupati. Science buffs can treat themselves to the nearby AP State Archaeology Museum and B.M. Birla Planetarium and Science & Technological Museum.

Apart from this, Necklace Road is also the landmark for the world famous ISKCON Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, where visitors can go to find a few hours of peace away from the bustling city life. Necklace Road also has family-friendly attractions such as Snow World, Jalavihar Waterpark and People's Plaza which is famous for hosting exhibitions and events throughout the year.

Eat Street, and Water Front are two favourite restaurants in the area offering views of the city and the lake. Getting around the Necklace Road area is very convenient with local buses, autos and taxis running till wee hours of the night.
