Birsa Munda Park - Timings and Entry

The Birsa Munda Park operates in two slots from 6 AM to 8 AM and then again from 9 AM to 7 PM on all days. The entry is free for visitors during the 6 AM to 8 AM slot. For those who visit the park in the later slot from 9 AM to 7 PM, the entry charges are as follows:
Monday to Friday:
Kids (less than five years age) - Free
Kids (5 to 12 years) - INR 5
Adults (Above 12 years) - INR 15
Saturday and Sunday:
Kids (less than five years age) - Free
Kids (5 to 12 years) - INR 10
Adults (Above 12 years) - INR 20

Major Attractions of Birsa Munda Park

The elderly residents of Dhanbad frequent the walkways present in the park. The kids, however, limit themselves to the play area that comprises of a toy train along with several other rides. History of Birsa Munda Park

The site of Birsa Munda Park was previously a plot of barren land, that was ignored owing to lack of funds for any construction. The MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) took up the responsibility of transforming this barren plot into an attractive tourist destination. It has, since, successfully generated employment for the residents of this city and has added significantly to the revenue.

How to Reach Birsa Munda Park

Birsa Munda Park is at a distance of 5.6 km from the Dhanbad Railway Station and 5 km from the main bus stand. For commuting within the city, one can hire a private taxi or cab or opt for an auto rickshaw. An alternative option is to catch a local bus.
