Ray Roberts Lake State Park, which is divided into 9 units, lies north of Dallas and is idyllic for various outdoor activities. When it comes to camping, the 2 main units, Isle du Bois Unit and Johnson Branch Unit, feature developed as well as primitive campsites, along with a view of the waters which is suitable for fishing, boating and swimming.

The campsites, depending upon their type, have provisions such as restrooms, showers, grills, fire rings, lantern posts, picnic tables, tent pads, water hookups and more. The two marinas, Lake Ray Roberts Marina and Lone Star Lodge Marina, offer boat repair services, have rentals and also boat storage. The park also includes the Greenbelt Corridor, which is about 20 miles long and perfect for horseback riding, hiking or biking.
