EU residents under 26, teachers with a Pass-Education card, disabled visitors, job seekers and those on minimal allowances: Free

Maison Bonaparte, Corsica Overview

Birth-home of Napolean Bonaparte, Maison Bonaparte is located on Rue Saint-Charles in Ajaccio. It is a museum that displays items depicting Bonaparte family history and hosts a historical enlivenment of 18th century Corsica and introduces to the Bonaparte family members.

The Chambre de l'Alcôve follows you next and is the room Napolean is believed to have stayed in upon returning from Egypt. Another room is dedicated to the family’s history during the Second Empire and offers a peak into the journeys taken by Napolean III and Eugenie. 


The Family rooms lie on the first floor, the drawing room, the room where Napolean was born, the gallery, Madame Mère's bedroom, the dining room, the room with the trap door; used by Napolean to reach the port in 1799, etc. 


The Ground floor hosts pictures and the various family residences around Ajaccio, and other agricultural equipment used back in the day like oil presses, jars and millstones.
