GR20 Trail, Corsica Overview

GR20 Trail in France’s Corsica is a 112-mile long hiking trail. It is considered by many as the toughest hiking trail across the European continent. Afoot through the valleys with extreme landscapes and weather, the hike may lead to routes that demand over 1000 metres of almost vertical ascent.

Apart from all that, you just have to keep walking for hours and hours, day in and day out on tough terrains and conquer various lengthy vertical ascents for over a fortnight with no sight of even a motel with half a descent mattress nearby. For starters on day one alone you’ve got to climb above the height of Ben Nevis with over 1500 metres of ascent. So why do it at all? Well besides the usual adrenaline rush, nature’s lust and gorgeous panoramas, you climb up to high mountains and walk through those peaks for days giving you a peak into mountaineering.
