Rosenborg Castle, Copenhagen Overview

The Rosenborg Castle is one of the most spectacular buildings in the architectural style of the Dutch Renaissance. A wonderful collection of jewels, regalia, and royal riches have been displayed for 400 years in the Knights' Hall. Its interior has elaborate carvings, silver lions, thrones, and more.

The castle's interiors take visitors on an expedition through Denmark's ancient culture, including the king's cabinet, rooms, and wax statues. A beautiful collection of Venetian glasses and flora Danica captivates visitors with its beauty and details. Besides antiques, the castle is also surrounded by a verdant garden, the King's Garden, considered the oldest garden in Denmark. Finally, visit the castle barracks as it demonstrates the lives of Royal Life Guards imprisoned during the wars. It was built in 1633 by Christian IV, one of the most famous Danish kings, as the royal residence of the city.
