The National Museum of Denmark

Located near Stroget the National Museum of Denmark is the largest in Denmark, showcasing the country's cultural history. It holds collections of antique treasures and artifacts from areas such as natural science, ethnology, archaeology, and ethnography.

A wide corridor connecting the rooms, stucco ceilings, parquet floors and exquisite panels create an elegant atmosphere in the building. The museum has multiple exhibitions covering 14,000 years of Danish history. Besides Viking art, renaissance murals, Egyptian mummies, and impressive archaeological finds like the Sun Chariot and Bronze Age Egtved Girl, the museum holds exceptional collections of coins, medals, antique toys and eastern antiquities. In a special section of the collection, a range of children's items is exhibited, including a Middle-Aged kitchen, Viking Ship, colourful shops, and vibrant artefacts. Shop for souvenirs at the museum shop or indulge in Danish delicacies like open-faced sandwiches, giant cakes, etc., at the SMOR restaurant located in the museum.
