It is a work of notable art and architecture which serves as a traffic roundabout in Chiang Rai.
Another distinctive attraction designed by the artist Chalermchai Khostipipat is the Golden Clocktower, which has a lot of similarities in its design to the White temple. It was built in 2008 in honour of King Bhumibhol Adulyadej. It's best view is in the night when its completely lit up in golden, pink and green. In the evening, there is an interesting light and sound display at the Clocl tower which is a lovely sight to see in the middle of traffic.
